He met the enemy on the river, which flew through the park. The prince was wounded in the hard battle, and strengths left him. His troops began to retreat. The white horse carried the prince out of the battlefield and saved his life.

Some time leter, the price come to himself, gathered his squad and defeated the enemy. Since that time, the river is called Losh or Loshitsa, and the park, which arose here, bears the name Loshitsa.

According to many historians, the events discribed in the legend apply to the famous battle on the river Nemiga, which is narrated in The Lay of Igor's Warfare. The charter of 1582 mentions that in those times Loshitsa court and Old Loshitsa belonged to the Druzky-Gorskys princes, who were the offsprings of Vseslav the Sorcerer.

In 1701, they sold a part of their estate to the Radzivills princes, who built there a magnificent palace.

The small legend about Minsk

The legend about the origin of Minsk is connected with the construction of the giant mill on the banks of the river Svisloch.

Long time ago, near the Vilensky mail route, settled down a mighty hero-healer Menesk. He built a huge stone mill on seven wheels on the river. The flour in those mill was grinded not from wheat but from stones. Every night Menesk travelled by his mill and gathered in his squad brave and strong young men, ready to progect their native land. Men-at-arms settled down close to Menesk. That's how the town was founded, and named after the legendary hero: Menesk - Mensk - Minsk.
